Dozens of Palestinians from occupied Al-Quds staged a sit-in in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood this evening in solidarity with the Salem family and in protest against the provocations of Israeli Knesset member Itamar Ben-Gvir.

Residents of occupied Al-Quds reported that several civilians were wounded during the ongoing confrontations between Palestinian youths and the Israeli occupation forces in the area.

According to the sources, this evening, the Israeli occupation police attacked the residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, in the Eastern part of the occupied city of Al-Quds, and the activists, foreigners, and others standing in solidarity with them.

The sources indicated that the occupation police fired stun grenades at the residents and their supporters, injuring a number of them, before brutally assaulting them.

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that its crews dealt with two injuries in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood as a result of the occupation forces’ attack against them, adding that one of them was injured after being hit while the other was sprayed by gas.

Previously, Israeli Knesset member Itamar Ben-Gvir, for the second time today, stormed the neighborhood, accompanied by a large group of settlers who tried to provoke the citizens.

The occupation forces poured reinforcements into the neighborhood, including Cavalry Regiment forces, as happened yesterday, to provide protection for the attacking settlers.

The occupation police had previously attacked a group of young men and solidarity activists, in an attempt to disperse them and prevent them from reaching the neighborhood.

Earlier, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, visited Sheikh Jarrah and called on its residents to persevere in the face of the occupation and settlers' attempts to expel them in order to seize the neighborhood.

When Sheikh Sabri arrived in the neighborhood, settlers tried to assault him, but they were prevented from approaching him, so they performed provocative dances.

Sheikh Jarrah's neighborhood witnesses great tension, violent clashes, and confrontations between citizens and the occupation forces.

A Palestinian teen was killed and ten others were wounded, at dawn today, Monday, by the Israeli occupation forces’ bullets as they stormed  Silat Al-Harithiya town, west of Jenin, accompanied by dozens of military vehicles with the aim of demolishing houses. The Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinian citizens who gathered to confront them defending their town.

Sheikh Jarrah family: We won't leave our home

The Salem family living in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Al-Quds had confirmed to Al Mayadeen that on Sunday, they have been attacked by the Israeli settlers who want to expel them from the home they have been living in for 74 years.

The family added that "we do not know what tomorrow will bring in the absence of an alternative, and we will not leave even if they attack us," adding that "the occupation claims that our house belongs to the settlers and they threatened with a court decision to expel us."
