IOF admit killing of platoon commander, two sergeants in Gaza
Under the "Permitted for Publication" clause, the Israeli Occupation Forces admitted that a platoon commander and two officers were killed during confrontations in Gaza.
The IOF confirmed on Friday the killing of an officer and two soldiers during intense confrontations in Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip.
According to the military, a captain, who served as a platoon commander in the tank commanders' course of the Israeli 196th Battalion, was among those killed. Additionally, the army reported that the other two fatalities were trainee sergeants from the same tank commanders' program.
The military correspondent for Israeli Channel Kan, Itai Blumenthal, provided details about the ambush in Beit Lahia, located in northern Gaza.
He reported that "in the early hours of Friday morning, as the army surrounded Kamal Adwan Hospital, an explosive device was used against a tank from the 196th Battalion, part of the 460th Armored Division."
Blumenthal confirmed that the explosion of the device resulted in the deaths of three members of the tank crew, including the captain and two soldiers, while a fourth soldier sustaining injuries.
890 IOF soldiers, police, security killed since October 7
The Israeli acknowledgment of the officer and two soldiers' deaths follows the Israeli Ministry of Security's announcement that 890 soldiers, officers, police, and security personnel have been killed since October 7, 2023.
Six brigade commanders with the rank of colonel have been killed since the beginning of the war, three of whom died in the battles on October 7. Additionally, 240 reservists died in various sectors, along with 217 soldiers.
The count excludes the elimination of at least 10 Israeli soldiers at the Lebanese border on Thursday.
The Israeli occupation military admitted today, Friday, that five other soldiers were killed in the battles taking place on the border with Lebanon last night.
Under the "Permitted for Publication" clause, the Israeli army spokesperson admitted that two officers and three soldiers were killed during a battle in South Lebanon last night, noting that among the dead was the 89th Brigade deputy commander.
All five slain soldiers belonged to the 8th Armored Division of the 89th Brigade.
