IOF ensnared, lured into strategic ambush in Jabalia: Exclusive
A field source in northern Gaza has disclosed details of a "tough security incident" mentioned by Israeli media on Saturday, involving an Israeli force that was ambushed in the area.
A field source in northern Gaza revealed to Al Mayadeen details about the "tough security incident" referenced by Israeli media on Saturday morning, during which an Israeli force was ambushed in the North.
According to the source, the Israeli military called up a combat team from the Givati Brigade to intensify its invasion of the Jabalia refugee camp. The source reported that armored vehicles from the 401st and 460th brigades were deployed to support this force, as it becomes less maneuverable in the camp's narrow alleys.
The source stated that the military launched an attack from multiple directions on the Jabalia camp in the early hours of the night, with infantry and armored units advancing from eastern, western, and northern axes toward the camp.
A Well-Planned Ambush
Meanwhile, a special reconnaissance infantry unit fell into a well-planned ambush in the Jabalia camp, and the Israeli military attempted to rescue its members and have them disengage for more than three hours.
Helicopters rushed to the scene, while artillery and warplanes provided heavy fire support on the combat axes, targeting dozens of buildings, as per the source.
Confrontations are still ongoing but at a reduced intensity, the source added, especially since "the enemy always tries to retreat when the night is over."
The field source noted that Israeli invading forces have established positions in the Zayed and Qalibo areas, with intermittent shelling on surrounding regions. There are reports of dozens of casualties and injuries in the streets and under the rubble, with civil defense teams unable to reach them.
Despite the continuous bombing and siege of northern Gaza for about 15 days, the Palestinian Resistance continues to confront Israeli troops and inflict losses on their ranks.
