The Israeli occupation forces murdered young Palestinian man Rafiq Riyad Ghannam in Jenin on Wednesday. Ghannam died after succumbing to injuries he sustained while the IOF were arresting him in Jabaa, the Palestinian health ministry said.

The Israeli occupation forces opened fire against the young martyr in front of his home in Jabaa. He was then arrested and taken to an undisclosed location amid violent confrontations.

Ghannam's family said the occupation deliberately murdered their son with cold blood, revealing that they shot him and wrapped his body in black plastic before taking him away.

The IOF also injured another young Palestinian man, Fadi Moussa Al-Khatib, shooting him in the leg. They also detained liberated prisoner Amir Faisal Ersan, 24, during their raid on the Jenin refugee camp.

Ersan's arrest was engulfed in violent confrontations, as the Israeli occupation heavily used live munition, as well as tear and stun grenades in the vicinity of the young man's house before detaining him.

Since the start of 2022, Israeli crimes and violations have resulted in the deaths of 66 Palestinians, including 14 children and five women. There have been several assassinations carried out against Palestinian activists, and one of the latest crimes that garnered a lot of international attention is the murder of veteran Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh.

Widespread arrests campaign in West Bank

The Israeli occupation forces arrested on Wednesday 42 Palestinian civilians in the occupied West Bank, most of whom are from Silwad, east of Ramallah.

The Palestinian prisoners' media office said the Israeli occupation forces arrested more than 42 Palestinian citizens in a "vicious arrests campaign carried out in the cities of the occupied West Bank."

Local sources also reported that in light of the arrests campaign, the Israeli occupation bulldozed Palestinian land in the West of Ramallah and uprooted olive trees as part of the Israeli campaign to burry the Palestinian culture and identity.
