IOF obstructing Civil Defense ops in northern Gaza for 50 days: Chief
Mahmoud Basal, the chief of the civil defense, relays to Al Mayadeen the apocalyptic situation in northern Gaza.
The Israeli occupation has been preventing Civil Defense teams from operating in northern Gaza for 50 days, Mahmoud Basal, the spokesperson for Gaza's Civil Defense, said on Tuesday.
Speaking to Al Mayadeen, Basal stated that the reality in northern Gaza was "catastrophic", where many civilians are trapped beneath the rubble, with their screams being heard across the area for rescue that has been rendered impossible to navigate or enter.
Moreover, 16 Palestinians were killed in Gaza City alone since this morning, the spokesperson said, adding that "medical services in Gaza City have ceased, and the limited amounts of aid provided by humanitarian organizations are nowhere near sufficient to meet needs or continue delivering services."
Basal also said eight Palestinians were killed in the Israeli aggression on Jabalia in the northern area of al-Nazla, including three children and two women. Moreover, a Civil Defense member was also killed in the ongoing aggression on the northern district.
A few hours earlier, Israeli warplanes targeted a Civil Defense center in Gaza City, resulting in the martyrdom of two people.
Meanwhile, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Tom Fletcher, stated that Gaza is currently the most dangerous place for humanitarian aid provisions, noting that the Gaza Strip has witnessed the highest recorded number of humanitarian workers killed.
As of the 445th day of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the death toll has reached 45,338 Palestinians killed and 107,764 injured since October 7, 2023.
