Hamas spokesperson Abdul Latif Al-Qanou, commenting on the shooting, said that such operations are increasing in frequency throughout the occupied West Bank, the last of which took place near the "Homesh" settlement, taking the occupation by surprise again, and destabilizing it despite its heightened state of alert.
Israel Hayom reported more than 60 shootings occurred in the West Bank during the month of May.
Palestinian Resistance fighters opened fire at a settler's vehicle on Thursday in the occupied West Bank's Al-Aghwar region. Local sources reported that the IOF were on alert in the area and were looking for the shooter.
A child and his father were injured by the IOF Thursday in a town West of Ramallah. Activist Bilal Al-Tamimi reported that an IOF force ambushed a vehicle at the entrance of the town and opened fire on it, wounding a two-year-old child in the head. The child and his father, who was also injured in the shoulder, were inside their house, situated next to the IOF's checkpoint.
