IOF targets and wounds two fishermen, arrests four others
The occupation forces release the four fishermen they arrested earlier in the day, one of which was wounded in the foot by a rubber bullet.
Earlier today, the Israeli navy targeted two Palestinian fishermen with rubber bullets and arrested four others off the coast of the Gaza Strip.
Gaza’s fishermen union declared that the Israeli naval guards have opened fire at the fishermen, during two separate incidents, which resulted in physical damage to the fishermen’s boats. Once they have incapacitated the fishermen’s boats they drove them to an unknown destination.
According to Zakaria Bakr, director of the fishermen's committees at the Agricultural Work Committees Foundation - a non-governmental organization, “the Israeli navy, conducted an incursion into the Gaza Sea and fired rubber bullets against two fishermen from the Bakr family and injured them. They were later taken to a local hospital.”

Moreover, Bakr added that the committee has recorded, since this morning, five Israeli violations against Palestinian fishermen in the Gaza Sea. The violations include the arrest of the four fishermen before they were let go, one of whom was hit in the leg by a rubber bullet.
In tandem, the head of the fishermen’s union, Nizar Ayache, stated that “the fishermen were close to the shore and did not cross the distance limitations set by the Israelis. Except that the latter attacked them and driven their boats over to the port of Ashdod.”
Furthermore, Palestinian authorities declared that the Israeli navy regularly targets fishermen and arrests them under the pretense of violating the fishing zone that extends six miles North of Gaza and 15 miles South.
