Iran Air Defense: No military training exercises or maneuvers behind sounds
Iran's Khatam Al-Anbia Air Defense Base releases a statement regarding sounds heard in the provinces of Hamedan, Kermanshah and Kurdistan, and says that all rumors regarding the sounds heard West of the country are untrue.
Iran's Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base said that no military exercises, maneuvers, or operations took place in the country, and stressed that all rumors being spread regarding the sound heard west of the country are false.
An informed source in Iran's armed forces said the sounds had nothing to do with military activity.
After sounds were heard in some western provinces, which were thought to be caused by air defense systems and military training exercises, with some even speculating that they were caused by an attack, an informed source denied these claims. The source clarified that the sounds were simply a result of thunder and lightning.
This comes after loud sounds were heard at midnight in the provinces of Hamedan, Kermanshah and Kurdistan, and some news websites claimed they were due to air defense systems tests.
