Iran Boycotts "Israel's" Speech in Inter-Parliamentary Union
The Iranian delegation at the Inter-Parliamentary Union assembly in Madrid boycotts the speech of the Israeli occupation representative, and Palestinian factions praise Iran's stance.
Israeli media reported that the Iranian delegation left the meeting hall of the 143rd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly in the Spanish capital, Madrid, during the speech of the Israeli occupation delegation representative.
Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post reported Sunday that in protest of the occupation crimes, the Iranian delegation left once Avi Dichter, representative of the Israeli occupation delegation to the Assembly, began his speech.
In his speech before the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, the head of the Iranian parliamentary delegation, Ali Nikzad, highlighted Israel’s violations of Palestinian people's fundamental human rights and the difficult conditions Palestinians are experiencing under the occupation.
Nikzad said that, through adopting selective policies, the US administration justifies its ally's crimes of manufacturing weapons of mass destruction and establishing terrorist organizations.
In the same context, the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine praised the “outstanding and courageous" Iranian stance and said it shows Iran's support for the Palestinian cause on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, as well as the Islamic Republic's insistence on refusing to recognize the Israeli occupation.
For his part, Hamas official Ismail Radwan said the movement "highly appreciates the brave stance of the Iranian parliamentary delegation."
"This position confirms the appreciated policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran that stands with our national cause, rights, and resistance of our Palestinian people, and rejects all forms of normalization with the Zionist entity," he mentioned.
It is noteworthy that the Iranian Parliament praised Indonesia's parliament for proposing a draft resolution under the name of "International Parliamentary Support for the Humanitarian Situation of the Palestinians," and declared its full support for the resolution.
