Iran slams claims on delivering weapons to Yemen as baseless
Iran reiterates its support for a peaceful solution to the Yemeni crisis and the UN's efforts for a political solution.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Nasser Kanaani, responded to a journalist's question during a press conference on Monday about claims published in certain Arab media outlets that Iran was supplying Yemen with weapons from Bandar Abbas to the Al-Hudaydah port.
Kanaani rebuffed these claims and slammed them as baseless and unfounded, describing them as "repeated staging of the scene by the aggressing coalition and its Western backers."
Kanaani said that such accusations are only aimed at distorting the general opinion on the realities in the region and the Yemeni crisis.
He further stressed that Iran has only supported the Yemeni people politically, having always supported a peaceful solution to the crisis and backed the UN's efforts for a political solution to the conflict and the continuation of the UN-backed ceasefire.
