Iran to build further nuclear power plants: AEOI head
The head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization says the organization's goal is to demonstrate the role and influence of nuclear energy in people's lives.
The head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI), Mohammad Eslami, pointed out that Iran has built the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in cooperation with Russia, noting that other plants will be built further, the state-run Iranian news agency IRNA reported.
According to Eslami, the AEOI's goal is to demonstrate the role and influence of nuclear energy in people's lives.
The Iranian official further mentioned that successes in the domains of health, medicine, food security, agriculture, water, and environment have been highlighted at the Tehran exhibition on Iran's nuclear achievements.
Eslami noted that the accomplishments were achieved during a period when Iran is being subjected to Western sanctions.
The AEOI head admitted that producing complex nuclear technology in these challenging settings has not been easy, but stressed that young Iranian scientists have made these technologies self-sufficient.
On Sunday morning, Iran hosted an exhibition to highlight the successes of Iranian scientists in the field of nuclear technology.
It is noteworthy that Tehran has repeatedly rejected Western claims about developing a nuclear bomb and reiterated the peacefulness of its nuclear program.
