The clear goal of the country's enemies is to force the Iranian people into submission and crush their determination, Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani said on Sunday.
Speaking in a seminar held in Tehran on Sunday, Larijani emphasized that "Iran will confront this pressure with national resistance to safeguard its sovereignty and dignity," explaining that "while today our enemies are demanding we forgo a nuclear industry, tomorrow they will be demanding we reduce our missile range and follow their orders in the region."
He also affirmed that "the demands of our enemies are endless, and what we truly need is a national resistance to put a stop to their ambitions."
The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council pointed out that Iran has never refused to negotiate or walked away from the dialogue table, clarifying that "we are only willing to accept realistic negotiations" and that the other side is now demanding "negotiations with pre-determined outcomes."
"We are not saying we will not negotiate. The Leader has always told us we should go for negotiations, but such a negotiation must be real, not something that they say in advance would be the results," he emphasized.
On the topic of the enemy's demands for prudence, he added that "they call on us to be reasonable, but our true rationality lies in national resistance, not in making endless, unconditional concessions," emphasizing that Iran's political and economic independence is an absolute red line.
Tom Barrack trying to impose his terms on Lebanon: Larijani
Shifting to Lebanon, Larijani stated that US Tom Barrack tried to force his demands on the Lebanese people but later grew angry when he realized that Lebanon is a unique nation that cannot be subjugated by such foreign agendas.
He concluded by affirming Iran's adherence to its right to development and scientific progress, stating that "the coming period will prove that conscious resistance is the only way to confront arrogance and political extortion."
Previously, on October 23, Iran's Larijani asserted that no one in the country would ever accept the demand to limit the range of its missiles to under 500 kilometers, describing any acquiescence to such a condition as an act of surrender.
He further stressed that Iran's resistance to this demand is a matter of national interest and that the nation must remain united on this path.
On October 1, Larijani stated that European governments are mistaken in their belief that they can force fundamental concessions from Iran by imposing economic pressure and fueling internal crises.
In an interview for Iranian state television, Larijani revealed that for the first time in history, Iran's nuclear facilities were attacked during last June's aggression against the country, noting that despite the assault, "Tehran returned to negotiations, but Europe rejected every fair solution."
