Iran to expand relations with Central Asian countries
Sardor Umurzakov, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan has met on Sunday with President Raeisi in Tehran.
In the meeting, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said that Iran plans to expand its relations with Central Asian countries and highlighted the great capacities of cooperation between the two countries in multiple economic fields, such as industry, transportation, agriculture, tourism, and energy.
“Today, the political will of presidents of the two countries is based on comprehensive development and deepening of bilateral relations, so that we are determined to take giant strides towards prosperity and development of the two countries by activating all capacities,” he stated.
The capacities and facilities that Iran and Uzbekistan share can be benefitted from while securing the interests of both countries and regional counties, he said, stressing the importance of strengthening cultural relations.
For his part, the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan said that shortly after the visit of presidents of the two countries in Turkmenistan, Tashkent compiled the roadmap for the development of bilateral relations. He added that Uzbekistan is exploring avenues for the execution of the roadmap in line with the development of relations between Tehran and Tashkent.
Sardor Umurzakov touched on the trade exchanged between the two countries, saying that the bilateral volume of trade that was exchanged between the two nations has doubled in comparison with last year.
