Iran to hold presidential elections on June 28

According to IRNA, it was decided during the initial agreement that elections would be held on June 28, to appoint a new president for the country on July 8.

The heads of the three powers in Iran have agreed to hold presidential elections in the country on June 28, following the initial agreement that took place today between Iran's Guardian Council and the Elections Commission.

According to IRNA, it was decided during the initial agreement that elections would be held on June 28, to appoint a new president for the country on July 8.

According to the approved electoral calendar, candidates will be registered during the period from June 10 to 14, and the electoral campaign period will be from June 23 until the morning of July 7.

Article 131 of the Iranian Constitution states that in the case of the passing of the President of the Republic, the first vice president assumes the authority and duties of the president with the approval of the Leader of the Revolution and the Islamic Republic of Iran for a maximum period of 50 days.

It stressed that his passing marks the completion of his path of flawlessly serving the country, offering condolences to the Iranian people and the Leader of the Revolution and Islamic Republic of Iran Sayyed Ali Khamenei over Raisi's loss.
