Iran to host joint naval exercises with Russia, China
Joint naval exercises with Russia, China will be held in the northern part of the Indian Ocean this autumn, as per the Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces’ General Staff.
The Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces General Staff Mohammad Bagheri announced that Iran, Russia, and China plan to hold a joint naval exercise this autumn.
At a parade of the Iranian Armed Forces on Thursday, Bagheri said as quoted by Mehr news agency that "exercises involving the navies of Iran, Russia, and China will be held in the northern part of the Indian Ocean this autumn".
"Pakistan, Oman, and a number of other countries will probably also take part in these activities, “he added.
The last time the three countries' militaries worked together on joint exercises was during Russia's Vostok-2022 exercise, which took place from September 1 to 7.
Participants included military personnel from China, India, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Algeria, and other countries.
Over 50,000 soldiers, and more than 5,000 units of weapons and military equipment, including 140 aircraft, 60 warships, boats, and support vessels were involved in the maneuvers.
