Iran vows to avenge generals that were killed in Syria: Kanaani
IRGC commanders Mohammad Ali Ataei Shoorcheh and Panah Taghizadeh were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Saturday in Damascus, Syria.
On Monday, Nasser Kanaani, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, declared that Iran would retaliate to any actions targeting its military advisers in Syria, IRNA reported on Monday.
This statement comes in the aftermath of a missile strike in Damascus over the weekend, resulting in the death of two IRGC commanders.
"No action against the interests and security of Iran and our military advisers in Syria will go unanswered, we already have experience in such situations," Kanaani was quoted as saying during a press conference.
The IRGC Public Relations Department announced on Saturday the martyrdom of the two generals in a statement, reading, "In light of the brutal aggression launched by the Israeli occupation against Gaza with open support from the United States and some European governments and the martyrdom of thousands of Palestinians, especially women, and children, two IRGC members were martyred: Mohammad Ali Ataei Shoorcheh and Panah Taghizadeh."
