Iran will raise cost of normalization with 'Israel': Speaker
Iran's Parliament Speaker says Martyr General Qassem Soleimani worked in the direction of "the unity of the Islamic world."
Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf warned on Wednesday that Iran will raise the costs of normalizing relations with the Israeli occupation to the extent that no side would dare to continue in such a process.
Speaking at the 1st International Conference on Martyr Soleimani School of Thought, Qalibaf said Martyr General Qassem Soleimani's school of thought was influenced by that of Imam Khomeini, adding that Soleimani was known as a comprehensive character.
The Iranian official pointed out that Soleimani was a role model in various social, political, military, moral, and behavioral issues, praising the martyr's efforts in eradicating insecurity.
Qalibaf added that throughout his life Martyr Soleimani worked in the direction of "the unity of the Islamic world" and "generating power for the Islamic world."
"He believed that power comes from the people," he added.
On January 3, 2020, the US carried out a drone strike authorized by former US President Donald Trump targeting a car carrying the commander of the Quds Force of the IRGC, General Qassem Soleimani, and the second-in-command of Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis.
On Tuesday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi highlighted that Soleimani was a prime model in combatting arrogance and terrorism, noting that he defeated ISIS and undermined the US all over the world.
"We will never forget the blood of martyr Soleimani and know that he will be avenged eventually," Raisi stressed on the third anniversary of the martyrdom of the leaders Soleimani and Al-Muhandis.
On the same day, Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah pointed out that the two leaders' assassination was aimed at undermining the region.
A couple of days ago, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian revealed that the US and the West have been obstructing the judicial case pertaining to General Qassem Soleimani's martyrdom.
In a TV interview commemorating Soleimani's third martyrdom anniversary, Amir-Abdollahian said that "unfortunately, both the Americans and some other western countries are creating obstacles in the way of judiciary procedure, but the Islamic Republic of Iran, too, is not hand-tied."
In the same context, Iranian leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei considered that breathing a new spirit into the Resistance front was an outstanding and essential part of Martyr Soleimani’s endeavors.
"By strengthening the physical, spiritual and mental aspects of the Resistance, the General preserved, equipped and revived this everlasting and growing phenomenon against the Zionist regime and the influence of the US and other arrogant countries," Khamenei indicated during a meeting with Soleimani's family and the officials of the General Soleimani Commemoration Ceremonies.
