Iran: Nuclear agreement ready, US has not made a decision
The Iranian Foreign Ministry indicates that the nuclear agreement is ready and is only awaiting a signature, citing stalling by the US.
On Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian highlighted the Islamic Republic of Iran's permanent support for Palestine. He affirmed the continuation of the Vienna negotiations through the exchange of written letters.
Amir-Abdollahian declared that Iran will remain a supporter of Palestine with Al-Quds as its capital.
Referring to the Vienna negotiations, the FM stated that the negotiations have not ceased and are continuing with the US through exchanged letters in order to remove sanctions on Iran.
Amir-Abdollahian added that the goal of the negotiations is to obtain a lasting agreement, and Iran has called for a realistic view by the American side, as the abolition of sanctions and obtaining economic guarantees are among the most important points on the agenda for the negotiations.
He expressed his belief that the US has understood Iran's red lines and stressed that Tehran will maintain negotiations.
Khatibzadeh: US was unable to make a political decision regarding the Vienna agreement
The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh confirmed yesterday that the agreement in the Vienna negotiations on lifting sanctions on Iran is ready and awaiting signatures, pointing out that the US has stopped negotiations over limited but very important issues.
He added that the United States was unable to take the necessary political decision regarding the agreement, detailing that the Biden administration adheres to the approach taken by Trump instead of proving that its intentions are sincere.
Khatibzadeh stated that Iran is ready to return to Vienna negotiations if the US takes the necessary political decisions on the outstanding issues, adding that Iran is waiting for the 4+1 group to prove that the US is capable of abiding by its commitments.
