Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani met with two senior Emirati officials on Wednesday during a visit to the UAE.
The Emirates News Agency (WAM) stated that Kani met with the diplomatic advisor to the President of the UAE, Anwar Gargash.
The meeting discussed relations between the UAE and Iran, and the two sides emphasized the importance of strengthening them based on good neighborliness and mutual respect within the framework of common interests.
They also stressed on working to achieve more stability and prosperity in the region and developing economic and trade relations between the two neighboring countries.
About a week ago, Gargash said that his country is working to build bridges with all countries, including those that have serious differences with them.
He noted that the UAE is taking steps to calm tension with Iran within the framework of a political option that supports diplomacy and avoids confrontation.
In the same context of truce between the two, the UAE Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Zayed, discussed with his Iranian counterpart, Hossein AmirAbdollahian, a few days ago, bilateral relations and areas of cooperation between the two countries.
The Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi, had previously confirmed that there are no obstacles in the way of expanding relations between Iran and the UAE in various fields, especially the economic field.
