Iranian nuclear official: Building nuclear power plants in Iran a necessity
A senior Iranian nuclear official stresses the need for Iran to develop its peaceful nuclear program.
The spokesperson for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Behrouz Kamalvandi, said Iran has a need to develop its peaceful nuclear program.
Kamalvandi made the remarks as the country celebrated the 16th anniversary of the National Day of Nuclear Technology, stressing that Iran has made great progress in the nuclear fuel cycle, and its advances in the field can be divided into four areas: radiation, energy, fuel production, and research and development.
He also said that Iran's focus on the development of its peaceful nuclear technology has allowed it to create a field that can create millions of dollars in revenue for the country.
The spokesperson criticized Western countries for their double standards and for accusing Iran of developing nuclear weapons while focusing on their nuclear industry and seeking to deprive Tehran of its own right to peaceful nuclear energy.
The head of the AEOI, Mohammad Eslami, said yesterday that the organization intends to take a more professional approach in its interactions with the IAEA and to prepare the Country Program Framework (CPF) for submission to the IAEA in order to avoid future allegations and psychological operations by Iran's adversaries regarding its nuclear activities.
With Iran's clarification policy, Eslami emphasized that Tehran expects the IAEA to be dedicated to carrying out its legal responsibilities and to avoid yielding to unreasonable demands, pressure, and malicious operations from Iran's foes, particularly the Israeli regime.
He said the AEOI has achieved 77 successes in various nuclear-related disciplines and that President Raisi would reveal nine of the most significant ones.
