Iranian opposition's support to 'Israel' a 'great scandal': Official

Speaking to Al Mayadeen, the former Iranian diplomat slams the Iranian opposition's support for "Israel".

Former Iranian political expert and diplomat Hadi Sayed Afqahi slammed the "Iranian opposition protest" in London on Saturday in support of "Israel" as a "big scandal" that reveals the reality of the groups that call themselves opposition and the extent of their dependence on the foreign security services that lead and protect them.

Sayed Afqihi added, "Such steps confirm that the terrorist groups that call for the overthrow" of the Iranian leadership operate "within the framework of Israeli and American interests and are managed by the same operating room despite the existence of many divisions among them."

Referring to the goals and inclinations of these groups, he said: "The operations room that leads the Iranian opposition insists on presenting a different image of the Iranian people through the media pertaining to political and regional issues, foremost of which is the position of the Iranian public toward the Palestinian cause and the Israeli entity."

In this context, the operations room took several steps, including the visit of Reza Pahlavi, who represents the opposition according to their vision, to the Israeli occupation entity, and his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, the diplomat added.

The last assembly comes in the same context as well, he added, and it is expected that these attempts will increase in conjunction with the increase in military and field pressure on "Israel" in its recent aggression on the Palestinian Resistance in the Gaza Strip.

Taking into consideration the field conditions and the achievements made by the Resistance on the battlefield, "it is natural for the enemy’s operations room to resort to such media and psychological operations by relying on its agents," Afqahi noted.

"Finally, the so-called Iranian opposition is nothing but a tool in the hands of the enemies of the Resistance in the region."
