Iraqi Resistance targets US al-Shadadi occupation base in al-Hasakah
US base in Syria's al-Hasakah region comes under missile attack.
Multiple missiles launched by the Islamic Resistance factions in Iraq targeted the US base in the city of al-Shadadi, south of al-Hasakah in Syria, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq on Sunday claimed responsibility for five operations that took place in the region targeting the US forces in Syria and Iraq, as well as the Israeli occupation forces in occupied Palestine.
The Islamic Resistance declared that it conducted a series of drone attacks on five enemy positions in the region. Among these, three were aimed at US occupation bases situated in Syria, specifically targeting al-Shadadi, al-Rukban, and al-Tanf.
The fourth strike was directed at a base near Erbil Airport in the Iraqi Kurdistan region.
The fifth operation was executed on the "Zevelun" naval facility in occupied Palestine. The nature and extent of the damage caused by these drone strikes remain undisclosed.
The Israeli "Zevelun" naval facility in Haifa Bay north of occupied Palestine was attacked by a drone on Sunday, sources told Al Mayadeen.
Later, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that three US soldiers were killed, while at least 25 were injured in northeastern Jordan near the Syrian border, including eight in serious condition.
"On Jan. 28, three U.S. service members were killed and 25 injured from a one-way attack UAS that impacted at a base in northeast Jordan, near the Syria border," CENTCOM said, before adding that the identity of those killed while deployed will not be revealed for 24 hours.
Afterward, citing a US official, Reuters reported that the number of US soldiers injured in the drone attack in north East Jordan has risen to 34.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq shared video footage depicting the attacks carried out against the US occupation base in Khirbet Adnan in Syria. This incident occurred Saturday and involved the use of drones in the attack.
This comes as the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, Yemen, and Hezbollah continue conducting operations targeting Israeli bases and sites across occupied Palestine, but with the Iraqi group being the most engaged in attacking ports.
With several attacks on record, the Iraqi group has proved that it has the capabilities to target Israeli occupation ports located on the Mediterranean coast. The largest of which, the Haifa port and the "Ashdod" port, have come under attack at least twice in 2024.
