IRGC targets terrorist outposts in Iraqi Kurdistan
Iranian Foreign Ministry affirms that the attack “is within international laws and is not a violation of Iraqi sovereignty”.
Tasnim News Agency reported that the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps IRGC's Ground Force hammered separatist terror organizations' positions with numerous rocket launchers, precision-strike weaponry, and drones.
Iran's Foreign Ministry affirmed that military action against separatist groups is legitimate retaliation for their violations against Iran's security and borders, and was done to protect national security.
"Our military retaliation is within international laws and is not a violation of Iraqi sovereignty," the ministry stressed.
On October 2, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched a fresh round of attacks on terrorist groups' positions as part of the recent anti-terror operation in Iraqi Kurdistan.
The IRGC Ground Force launched new artillery and rocket strikes against separatist terrorists in northern Iraq, on Saturday evening, after similar strikes were conducted on the 24, 26, and 28th of September.
At the time, the IRGC ground forces announced that they launched 73 surface-to-surface ballistic missiles and dozens of drones that hit the headquarters of the terrorists in Iraqi Kurdistan.
The commander of the ground forces of the IRGC, Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour, said back then that "the bombing of the terrorist headquarters in northern Iraq was carried out with precision," and explained that "the targets were scattered in 42 locations, sometimes 400 kilometers apart."
"The chosen targets certainly belong to the terrorist groups working against Iran," he said, asking the authorities in northern Iraq to expel all "the terrorist groups and conspirators" against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Pakpour stressed that "the operations will continue until the complete disarmament of the terrorist groups that are working against the Islamic republic."
The IRGC lately announced that it was launching an operation that included missile and armed drone strikes targeting the headquarters of the Komalah and Kurdistan Democratic Party terrorist groups after the groups used arms in Iranian riots.
