IRGC unveils new missile system for training purposes: Tasnim
The new training system was fully designed and developed by experts from the IRGC's Groud Forces.
Tasnim news agency reported on Monday that Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force successfully carried out drills on a new homegrown missile system designed to train firing squads in firing the Fath 360 missile.
According to the report, the new training system was fully designed and developed by experts from the IRGC's Ground Forces and is intended to simulate all stages involved in the loading and preparation of the launching of the missile.
The training missile system employs the airframe of a real Fath 360 missile, but the missile's engine and warhead have been replaced by an Arash 122-mm rocket.
The new training system has improved the safety of trainees and instructors in military drills and reduced overall training costs, the report states.
Fath 360 is a solid-fuel ballistic missile developed by the Iranian Defense Ministry. It has a length of over 5 meters, weighs 787 kilograms - including a 150-kg warhead - and reaches a velocity of Mach 4.
