'Israel' marching toward its demise, former Mossad chief says
Former Mossad chief Tamir Pardo says the Israeli occupation is marching toward its demise in light of the judicial amendments being pushed by the Knesset.
Even before Israeli Justice Minister Yariv Levin announced judicial reform, former Mossad chief Tamir Pardo told activists from the Berl Katznelson Fund that he understood this would bring "the end of the state", Israeli media reported Monday.
"The end, nothing short of it." Former Mossad chief Tamir Pardo is convinced that the Israeli occupation is heading toward its demise. He arrived at this conclusion even before Levin announced the judicial reform bill, Makor Rishon reported.
Pardo has made several headline-making statements. Last week, the former Mossad chief told Israeli radio, "We are developing proceedings similar to the Ku Klux Klan."
A recording obtained by Makor Rishon clarifies that Pardo reached these gloomy conclusions long ago - before Levin presented his judicial reform bill. Right before Nakba day last year, Pardo told Israeli activists that "the end of the state" would come decades from "today", i.e., when the judicial amendment law was pushed.

He reportedly arrived at this conclusion after the numerous parties within the Knesset signed coalition agreements to build alliances within the government.
"For five months, we have been in the midst of a destructive process. For no reason, with no real logic, a state that succeeded in its seventy-fifth year in proving that man and his spirit can create a miracle and establish a glorious state in the most challenging place in the world and in the most hostile environment," Pardo said.
"Then came the elections, which seemed like ordinary elections with rifts, disasters, and many problems, but they were elections after all. All of a sudden, we leave the elections to darkness rather than light. This is not due to the voters, but due to the strange, unjustified political circumstances," the former Mossad chief said.
"If they had a similar coalition agreement in Iran, Tehran would have initiated self-destruction," Pardo added.
"If I were Mossad chief... and saw in Iran, which is an enemy state for us, election results leading to such a coalition agreement, I would say that I don't need more resources. I don't need anything. I don't need to do anything. Those people in Tehran have decided on suicide. This is what I saw only in the coalition agreement.
The former Mossad chief's negative sentiment toward the far-right ruling coalition and public statements come amid a wave of retired and former officials in the Israeli security establishment who are strongly and excessively criticizing the ruling coalition.

A recent video surfaced of former Mossad chief Shabtai Shavit, in which he called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a son of an immigrant family, adding that "He lived and learned in the United States, and probably his genetic code is more American than Israeli, which explains his dealing with Israel as the state of the Jewish people."
Former Israeli occupation prime minister Ehud Olmert told the British news outlet Channel 4 that "Israel" is nearing an internal war.
"There is a threat. This is a serious threat," Olmert said. "It’s never happened before and we are going into a civil war now."
This also comes as an increasing number of Israeli reservists are ending or threatening to end their military service in protest against the judicial overhaul.
