Israeli media: "Israel" may not be able to stop the path of Iranian uranium
IOF former intelligence chief Amos Yadlin said that "Israel" may have lost its chance to prevent Iran from completing the uranium enrichment track of making a nuclear weapon, but can still block its weaponization track.
Commenting on the current nuclear talks in Vienna, Yadlin considered that Iran will return to a version of the JCPOA that includes most limitations, “but I am saying these limitations are not as efficient as they used to be between 2015 and 2018, and this is a real concern in Israel.”
“If they will go back to the same parameters of 2015, Iran is much closer to the bomb, due to the advanced centrifuges, especially if they are not destroyed,” he stressed. “There is knowledge – you cannot destroy knowledge.”
Yadlin went on to say that “Tehran is playing hardball in the negotiations to see what additional concessions on sanctions or nuclear limitations it can get out of the US”, asserting that “Iran returned to the negotiating table because it strongly wants to obtain a deal and sanctions relief.”
When asked to compare his views on former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Iran policy to those of Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Yadlin said his main criticism of Netanyahu about the 2015 agreement was how negative Netanyahu was about it.
It is worth noting that "Israel" is closely monitoring the progress of the current nuclear negotiations in Vienna, not to mention that Israeli politicians are launching campaigns against Iran.
“Israel” is at a weak starting point
Earlier, Yadlin said that "Iran is highly confident of itself and its demands are very overreaching, and if the Americans do not make additional concessions, the path is heading to crisis or an explosion."
Yadlin stressed that "'Israel' is at a weak starting point in preparation for these talks, because whether an agreement is reached or not – "Israel's" maneuvering ability is diminishing, especially because of the US strategy based on less for less."
On his part, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh said that “Israel” has been trying to "poison" the negotiation process in Vienna on the restoration of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) by spreading false news about Iran.
Following the launch of a new round of Vienna negotiations, Khatibzadeh tweeted: "The Israeli regime, whose existence relies on tension, is at it again, trumpeting lies to poison Vienna talks. All parties in the room now face a test of their independence & political will to carry out the job — irrespective of the fake news designed to destroy prospects for success."
The seventh round of talks on the Iranian nuclear deal and the lifting of US sanctions on Tehran resumed in Vienna on Monday. At the same time, several media outlets reported that “Israel” shared false intelligence with the United States and several European allies that Iran is allegedly taking actions to enrich uranium to 90%.
