Israeli aggression on Damascus' Mazzeh kills 2, injures 3: Syrian MoD
The PIJ Movement categorically denies the news reported by the Israeli media about the assassination of its Secretary-General, Ziyad al-Nakhalah, in Damascus.
Two civilians were killed and three others were injured in an Israeli strike on a vehicle on Monday afternoon in the Mazzeh district of Damascus, Syria's Defense Ministry confirmed.
The Mazzeh neighborhood, where United Nations offices are also based, has been the target of other recent Israeli strikes.
"At approximately 17:05 pm (1417 GMT), the Israeli enemy launched an air strike targeting a civilian car" in Mazzeh, "killing two civilians and injuring three," the Ministry said in a statement.
It added that the attack caused "material damage to private property" nearby.

Shortly after the Israeli aggression, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) Movement said it categorically denies the news reported by the Israeli media about the assassination of its Secretary-General, Ziyad al-Nakhalah, in Damascus' Mazzeh neighborhood.
In early April, an Israeli air strike on the Iranian consular annex in Mazzeh killed seven IRGC advisors and several other people. Iran later that month retaliated with its first-ever direct missile and drone strike against "Israel", which came to be known as Operation True Promise I.
Earlier this month, the Syrian Defense Ministry said an Israeli airstrike on a residential building in the Mazzeh neighborhood claimed the lives of seven civilians, including women and children.
Back then, the Iranian Embassy in Syria condemned the aggression as a "cowardly missile attack" and another crime committed by "Israel".
"Once again, the Israeli enemy committed another crime during a cowardly missile attack on a civilian building in the heart of Damascus, killing innocent women and children," the embassy said in a statement.
The embassy confirmed that no Iranian citizens were among the dead or injured.
"The Iranian embassy condemns this terrorist bombing and announces that there are no Iranian citizens among the martyrs and wounded. We ask God to grant the families of the martyrs patience and solace and a speedy recovery for the wounded," the statement read.
