Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel was seen wearing a Palestinian kufiya on the second day of the International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Left Parties and Movements.
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel described the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip as barbaric and an act of genocidal war, emphasizing the need to condemn these crimes on all occasions and through all media outlets.
Diaz-Canel wore a Palestinian kufiya on the second day of the International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Left Parties and Movements, which was held in the Cuban capital Havana, and attended by delegates from 35 countries.
He expressed his support for the Palestinian people and condemned the Israeli occupation's crimes against them.
The Cuban leader underscored the role of the media in conveying the truth to the people and provided examples of how the enemy's press manipulates the reality in Cuba to confuse and deceive the audience.
Diaz-Canel emphasized the necessity of utilizing publications issued by leftist media to confront imperialist aggression, stressing the importance of exploiting all spaces to condemn the deviations and corruption in the current international system.
On Tuesday, Diaz-Canel condemned the Israeli aggression on Gaza and the massacres committed against the Palestinian people in Rafah.
"When we thought we had seen and endured everything, the genocidal state of Israel viciously attacks the place [Rafah] where more than a million Palestinians had sought refuge. The images are harrowing. We condemn in the strongest terms what is happening there. Long live #Palestine!," he wrote on his account on X.

It is noteworthy that on December 20, the Cuban Parliament unanimously approved a declaration of solidarity with the Palestinian people, condemning the Israeli occupation's crimes.
During the Second Ordinary Session of the National Assembly of People's Power, in its 10th Legislature - in the presence of General Raul Castro and the President of the Republic, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez - the representatives approved a statement in which they condemned the genocide against the Palestinian people, highlighting the failure of the current international system to prevent the cessation of the Israeli massacres against the Palestinian people.
The Cuban Parliament condemned "the killing of thousands of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, more than 70% of them children and women, as a result of the indiscriminate bombardments carried out by Israel since October 7. The current situation is the result of 75 years of Israeli practices of illegal occupation and colonization in flagrant violation of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people in their own land."
The statement condemned the attacks carried out by the occupation against hospitals, schools, refugee camps, the United Nations Centers, buildings, homes, and other civilian infrastructure, in addition to depriving the Gaza Strip of water, food, and electricity and preventing the arrival of humanitarian aid.
