Israeli army dismisses major who participated in pro-Netanyahu protest
Israeli media say the Israeli occupation military dismissed a major over participating in a protest in support of the judicial overhaul while wearing a military uniform.
Israeli media reported that a major in the Israeli occupation army had been dismissed from his position after participating in right-wing demonstrations in support of the Netanyahu government judicial overhaul while wearing his military uniform.
The Israeli Channel 13 highlighted that since the start of the protests, this is the first case of a soldier participating in a demonstration in military uniform.
The occupation military allowed its soldiers to participate in last Thursday's demonstration in support of the judicial overhaul.
The Israeli Channel 7 website reported at the time that the military commanders concerned with this matter were informed that participation is allowed for soldiers up to the rank of lieutenant colonel, provided that they do not wear a military uniform and do not participate in any violent events.
It is noteworthy that according to the internal system of the Israeli occupation military, soldiers are prohibited from participating in protests, as well as political, public, and media activity.
Israeli institutions estimated that the huge right-wing demonstration that took place in occupied Al-Quds last Thursday came to pressure Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to back down from implementing the judicial overhaul.
According to Israeli media, the Likud Minister of "Justice", Yariv Levin, who formulated the judicial amendments, pushed for organizing the demonstration, after realizing that Netanyahu was no longer interested pass them and that he might search for ways to evade from approving them.
Israeli media reported that Netanyahu did not want to organize the demonstration and did not call on settlers to take part in it, in addition to avoiding participating in it, while Levin was keen to remind the occupation Prime Minister, through the demonstration, that the masses of Likud voters are interested in continuing to enact judicial reform legislation.
