Israeli attacks on Syria trial to divert notice from crimes in Gaza
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates says that the Israeli aggression falls within the context of the occupying entity's attempts to export its crises and divert attention from the war crimes it is committing against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said on Thursday that the Israeli aggression that targeted the Damascus and Aleppo international airports comes within the context of the continuation of the Israeli authorities and their supporters in their policies founded on aggression and occupation.
In a statement, the Ministry added that the Israeli aggression falls within the context of the occupying entity's attempts to export its crises and divert attention from the war crimes and crimes against humanity it is committing against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The Ministry stated that it addressed today both the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, and the President of the Security Council, regarding the recent Israeli attack on the Damascus and Aleppo airports, which led to damage to the two civilian airports' runways, terrorizing travelers, endangering their lives and the safety of civil aviation, and putting the two airports out of service.

The Ministry indicated that this aggression falls within the context of the occupying entity's attempts to divert attention from the mass massacres it is committing against innocent Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, who are subjected to a brutal campaign of killing and indiscriminate and barbaric bombing that targeted infrastructure, civil facilities, schools, hospitals, and citizens' homes.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also called on the three Western countries that are permanent members of the Security Council to stop their blind bias towards the occupying entity, and to enable the United Nations to put Resolutions 242, 338, and 497 into practice, ensuring an end to the occupation and stopping its crimes against the people of the occupied Arab territories, including the Syrian Arab Golan.
Earlier today, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Damascus reported that Syrian air defenses responded to Israeli aggression against Damascus and Aleppo airports, amid reports that their runways had been damaged.
Following the aggression, the Syrian Ministry of Transport announced the redirection of scheduled flights via Damascus and Aleppo airports, to Latakia International Airport. It added that its staff had begun detecting damage to the runways of the two airports and removing traces of Israeli aggression in preparation for repairing them.
In a statement, Syria condemned "the brutal practices of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people," emphasizing that "the Resistance's response confirms the Palestinian people's right to establish their independent state on their land."

"Israel" fears that Hezbollah and Syria will start the battle of "Al-Aqsa Flood" from the northern side of the entity, in order to support the Resistance factions in the Gaza Strip, which will lead to increased pressure on the occupation "army", which is suffering from weakness and internal dispersion.
Syria has been a long supporter of the Palestinian Resistance, providing Gaza with the necessary means to effectively confront Israeli aggression.
Moreover, it has been a constant target of Israeli air strikes and rocket fires that have hit civilian infrastructure such as airports and residential areas. "Israel" has also relentlessly targeted Syrian Air Defense batteries in recent years in an attempt to undermine the Syrian Arab Army's capabilities.
