Last Sunday, the Israeli occupation forces claimed to have found dozens of tunnel paths in the "Philadelphi Corridor" near the Egyptian border.
The Israeli army regards controlling the Philadelphi Corridor as a key objective in its military operation in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, due to accusations that Hamas uses it for military purposes.
The Salah al-Din axis, also known as the Philadelphi Axis, stretches from the Mediterranean Sea in the north to the Karem Abu Salem crossing in the south, running along the Egyptian border. It is approximately 14 kilometers long and 100 meters wide.
