Israeli forces estimates 100,000 occupation soldiers disabled by 2030
The multi-front Israeli war has left tens of thousands of soldiers suffering from disabilities, injuries, and mental disorders, with numbers still on the rise.
The number of disabled Israeli soldiers could hit 100,000 by 2030, 60% of whom could suffer from mental disorders, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported, citing Israeli occupation forces (IOF) estimations.
According to the Israeli Walla! website, at least 25,000 IOF soldiers, security forces, and settlers have sustained injuries since October 7, 2023.
Meanwhile, Yedioth Ahronoth reported that war injuries "affect soldiers' physical and mental abilities, as well as their daily lives and their ability to adapt and return to normal life."
Channel 12 aired an Israeli investigation by the Tel Hai Academy, which revealed that 50% of settlers in northern occupied Palestine are taking tranquilizers, and 36% of displaced settlers are receiving psychological therapy.
Consequently, the media outlet concluded that "settlers in the north are not accepting the security situation presented by the Israeli army, and very few have returned to their homes so far."
13,500+ Israeli soldiers injured since October 7
This comes after the Department of Rehabilitation at the Israeli Security Ministry announced that more than 13,500 Israeli soldiers have been wounded throughout the war, 1,500 of whom have been injured twice.
Israeli media, citing data tallied by the government, reported that among the injured soldiers, 287 have head injuries, 87 of which are serious, and 10 are now using wheelchairs.
The department also stated that 37% of the wounded soldiers have injuries to their limbs, primarily bone fractures.
Additionally, approximately 5,200 soldiers are experiencing mental health issues, including 3,350 dealing with anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders, and 1,300 suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
