A young Palestinian man, Osama Kamil, aged 20, was martyred on Wednesday evening after being critically injured by bullets fired by Israeli occupation forces during their raid on the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin, in the northern West Bank.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Kamil was transferred to the hospital with an abdominal gunshot wound. Despite efforts by medical teams to save his life, his martyrdom was later confirmed.
The Israeli occupation forces stormed Qabatiya, deploying foot patrols and snipers throughout the area, firing live ammunition, and invading and vandalizing homes.
In a related development, the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) reported that Israeli occupation forces launched a wide-scale detained campaign across Tubas Governorate at dawn Wednesday. Around 60 Palestinians were detained, including children, relatives of martyrs, and former detainees.
The PPS highlighted that the detentions were accompanied by widespread sabotage, including the destruction of infrastructure. In several cases, occupation soldiers transformed Palestinian homes into temporary military outposts.
The Tubas Governorate is witnessing an unprecedented escalation in such operations, with approximately 330 Palestinians detained since the beginning of the year. Meanwhile, the occupation continues its military incursion into the town of Aqaba, north of Tubas, for the second consecutive day.
Demolitions and house raids across the West Bank
Local Palestinian sources reported that the occupation's military began demolition operations targeting homes and commercial facilities in the al-Ramadin triangle, located south of al-Khalil.
Israeli forces also stormed the Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus, raiding homes and disrupting daily life. In another incident, occupation forces raided the Kafr Saba neighborhood in Qalqilya, damaging homes and vandalizing Palestinian property during searches.
Ten Palestinians were injured after Israeli occupation forces violently beat them during a large-scale military raid in the governorate of Tubas on Wedndesday, marking a new escalation in ongoing operations throughout the occupied West Bank.
According to Kamel Bani Odeh, Director of the Prisoners Society in Tubas, the occupation forces detained 34 Palestinians during raids in Tubas, the towns of Aqaba and Tammun, and the village of Tayaseer. Several homes were turned into military posts used for field interrogations and searches, he added.
Meanwhile, in al-Khalil, Israeli settlers assaulted three Palestinians in the town of Yatta, under the protection of occupation soldiers. The attack is another example of the growing settler violence targeting Palestinian residents and their property.
