The Israeli occupation's assault on the West Bank city of Jenin and its refugee camp, which lasted eight hours on Monday, resulted in the martyrdom of a Palestinian child and a youth, the injury of four citizens, and widespread destruction of public and private property.

Sources told Palestinian news agency WAFA that the occupation forces withdrew from the al-Aloub and al-Hawashin neighborhoods inside Jenin Camp, as well as from the city center and the outskirts of the al-Sibat neighborhood, where they had been stationed throughout the incursion.

Israeli bulldozers destroyed part of a house in the al-Aloub neighborhood and uprooted infrastructure at the al-Hissan Roundabout at the Jenin refugee camp's entrance.

Medical sources confirmed the martyrdom of 17-year-old Rayan Ibrahim al-Sayyed and 23-year-old former detainee Mahmoud Ma'moun Abu al-Rub, both succumbing to injuries sustained from Israeli gunfire.

Jabareen had been injured months ago during an earlier incursion by Israeli forces into the city of Jenin and its refugee camp.

His father, Mohammad, 54, was martyred at the time after being shot by Israeli forces while on the roof of his home.

Jenin Governor Kamal Abu al-Rub mentioned that Israeli occupation forces surrounded a house in the Jenin refugee camp earlier on Monday.

"Occupation soldiers climbed on the roofs of the houses and started shooting at anything that moved, resulting in the martyrdom of a minor and a young man in his 20s," he told AFP.

Major Israeli military raids in Jenin, as well as in the Nur Shams and Balata refugee camps in the occupied West Bank, have persisted through September, resulting in the martyrdom of 36 Palestinians, according to reports from the United Nations and the Palestinian Authority.

"What is happening to the city of Jenin and its camp are systematic attacks aimed at destroying what we rebuild after each attack," Abu al-Rub indicated.

"Today, the occupation army destroyed streets. This is the 14th time since October 7 that the occupation has destroyed what we have rebuilt."

According to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the number of martyrs in the West Bank since October 7, 2023, has risen to 755, including 165 children, in addition to more than 6,250 citizens injured with varying degrees of severity.
