Israeli Labor party chief slams opposition support for Netanyahu gov.
Israeli Labor Party chief Merav Michaeli says the job of the opposition is not to automatically back a government whose members are going around with a barrel of gasoline attempting to set the region on fire.
Israeli Labor Party chief Merav Michaeli slammed opposition leaders Yair Lapid and Benny Gantz after saying they will support any decision made by the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the rockets launched from southern Lebanon on Israeli settlements in northern occupied Palestine.
“The job of the opposition is not to automatically back a government whose members are wandering around with a barrel of gasoline and attempting to light the region on fire,” said Michaeli on Twitter.
“Our job is to examine every incident through a magnifying glass in order to ensure that Israel’s security is not compromised by extremist and irresponsible members of the government,” she further elaborated.

Michaeli stressed that the Labor Party supports the IOF and the security establishment and will side with them “in any disagreement with the extremist and irresponsible government.”
Earlier today, despite blaming Netanyahu for the deteriorating overall state of the Israeli occupation entity, Lapid confirmed that "when it comes to security, there is no opposition or coalition in Israel".
"We will stand united against any enemy. The opposition will give the government full backing for a harsh response," the opposition leader affirmed, adding that "Israel should respond at a time and place that is right for us."
"Instead of acting according to our enemies’ schedule, we must respond forcefully and mercilessly according to the security forces’ assessment of the evolving situation,” he concluded.
Similarly, opposition leader and former Israeli occupation Security Minister Gantz said the opposition "will back every responsible and determined action by the government to restore calm and strengthen deterrence."
Earlier today, the Israeli occupation military said that 34 rockets were launched from southern Lebanon on occupied Al-Jalil.

The occupation said the Iron Dome air security system intercepted 25 of the projectiles, adding that at least five rockets landed in occupied Palestinian lands, claiming that the locations of the remaining four rockets are still unknown.
This came after Israeli occupation forces stormed and desecrated Al-Aqsa Mosque, protecting the Israeli settlers' incursions for the second consecutive day.
On Thursday morning, a group of settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque, heavily protected by the occupation forces.
In parallel, the IOF launched airstrikes, allegedly targeting Resistance positions west of the Gaza Strip, while Israeli helicopters also targeted several positions in the center of the Strip.
