Israeli Media: 'Fruits of Galilee' to dismiss half of employees
The Lebanese Resistance has caused Israeli farmers to think twice before harvesting crops on occupied farmland in the North of Palestine.
Today, Israeli media predicted that the "Bari Hagalil" ('Fruits of Galilee') factory in the "Hazor Haglilit" settlement will dismiss half of its employees after deciding to close one of its production lines due to the ongoing confrontations and escalations between Hezbollah and the IOF.
"53 employees received summons letters for a hearing before dismissal," noting that "closing the production line will also harm the region’s farmers who grow corn and other crops for the factory."
Yedioth Ahronoth reported that "fruits falling to the ground in northern orchards," are causing financial damage "estimated at 500 million shekels (more than 131 million dollars)," adding to what it disclosed a few days ago regarding the total financial loss in the North amounting to approximately $1.6 billion.
They further elaborated that "the soil in the orchards inside the Hezbollah shooting range is strewn with apples that fell from the trees due to their excessive ripeness," so that "a large portion of the fruit was not harvested at all from the orchards on the northern border."
Businesses stopped in thousands since Oct. 7
According to the newspaper, Israeli farmers in the North "complain about the difficulty of reaching the orchards along the border," explaining that their loss is twofold: the fruit that has not been harvested now, and the damage to the next season, revealing it is getting worse "while no one from the Property Tax Department has spoken to them until now regarding a compensation plan."
In parallel, the Israeli Kan channel confirmed earlier that thousands of businesses in the northern settlements have been closed and stopped since October 7. Additionally, Israeli Media previously confirmed that the ongoing escalation on the "northern border" increases the state of anxiety among settlers, especially in the economic sense.
The significant decline in sales and revenues witnessed by shops on the northern border since the outbreak of the war seems clear, as the percentage of decline in sales is more than 70%, according to the correspondent of the Israeli Makan channel.
Israeli media also revealed that technology companies fired more than 1,000 workers since the beginning of January.
The occupation fears Hezbollah
On Tuesday, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah - targeted an Israeli force near the "Zar'it" barracks, "which was preparing the carry out an attack inside Lebanese territory," according to what was included in Hezbollah's statement.
The statement stated that the resistance targeted the Israeli force with missile weapons, resulting in confirmed injuries. This targeting is a continuation of the resistance operations against occupation sites and deployments.
Earlier yesterday, the Resistance launched missiles at the Israeli "Biranit" barracks, then attacked the Ruweisat al-Qarn site in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms, before targeting the Hadab al-Bustan military site. In addition, the Islamic Resistance's fighters launched a barrage of rockets toward the Israeli settlement of "Avivim" in response to Israeli air strikes on civilian areas in southern Lebanon.
