Israeli media: IOF alertness at peak, 15,000 troops in West Bank
Israeli media reveal that, in preparation for the month of Ramadan, Israeli authorities deployed to the West Bank double the number of forces present in the Gaza Strip.
The anxiety and alertness of the Israeli occupation police has reached its peak as the first day of Ramadan begins today amid rising warnings of operations by Palestinian freedom fighters across the occupied territories, Israeli media reported.
Israeli Channel 12 reported that, in preparation for the month of Ramadan, Israeli authorities deployed forces to the West Bank twice as many as the forces deployed in the entire Gaza Strip.
Israeli media further reported that the Israeli occupation will deploy 15,000 troops and military police personnel across the occupied West Bank with 5,000 reserve troops, 24 battalions, and 20 squadrons of the "border police", in addition to two units of special forces.
Leaked document shows 'Israel' anxious
On March 5, the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth leaked an internal Israeli document showing that the Israeli Security Minister, Yaov Gallant, has warned heads of the security establishment of escalating confrontations in the West Bank during the month of Ramadan.
The leaked document was originally addressed to the "Foreign and Defense Committee" of the Israeli Knesset and chiefs of IOF staff, Mossad, "Shin Bet", Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Israeli ministers Benny Gatz and Gadi Eisenkot, among others.
Abu Obeida: No compromise on main demands, Ramadan a month of Jihad
The ongoing Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood "establishes a new phase not only in Gaza and Palestine but on a global level," as it promotes the fact that "justice is only secured through force," the military spokesperson for Hamas' al-Qassam Brigades Abu Obeida stated in a crucial broadcast address on March 8.
Abu Obeida's speech highlighted the futility of diplomacy and legal pathways through international law or the decisions of the United Nations Security Council in achieving a ceasefire and the rights of the Palestinian people.
Instead, the spokesperson pushed for continued confrontations and expanded mobilization in the month of Ramadan, in the West Bank, occupied '48 territories, Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, and other Islamic and Arab nations to end the genocide against the Palestinian people.
Let Ramadan be the month for mobilization, upscaled resistance: Abu Hamza
On his part, the spokesperson for al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, Abu Hamza, called on March 2 not to abandon the Al-Aqsa Flood battle led by the heroes in Gaza, criticizing Arab and Islamic governments who have turned their backs on the Palestinian people in the Strip being slaughtered by the Israeli occupation for almost 5 months now.
Addressing Arab and Islamic countries "who possess armies, planes, and artillery," he asked, "Is it not time for you to mobilize your weapons, following in the footsteps of the free people of Yemen, Lebanon, and Iraq?"
He pointed out that "the Israeli enemy wanted an open war, and we have gone to an open war in compliance with Allah's orders to mobilize [to fight oppressors] and always be prepared," announcing the continuation of "Al-Aqsa Flood battle on the basis of Unity of the Battlefields in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, and Syria."
Abu Hamza also called on the Arab and Islamic nations "to break the silence and draw closer to Allah."
"Let Ramadan be a month of terror and panic for the Israeli entity," he stressed.
