Israeli media: Panic grips northern settlers
Israeli Channel 12 political affairs commentator calls on Israeli authorities to avoid taking any actions that might lead Hezbollah to get directly involved in the war.
Israeli media reported that a state of panic has ensued among Israeli settlers in the north, especially those living in settlements near the borders with Lebanon, noting that settlers fear the ambiguity of the rate of escalation.
Israeli Channel 12's correspondent in northern occupied Palestine reported that during his tour of the borders, "Hezbollah fighters were constantly present at a few meters distance," highlighting that this state at the borders is absolutely terrifying for the settlers living in the north.
The correspondent noted that to address these concerns the Israeli authorities must build a new barrier that would fortify the northern settlements, which would take almost two years to finalize.
Given that no initiative has been taken so far in this regard, he added, the situation in the north remains very worrying and in fact "should worry everyone".

Another correspondent in Channel 12 reported, citing sources in the "War Cabinet" (the interim war cabinet formed by the Israeli occupation government after declaring a state of war), saying that "what is happening in the north would not continue."
The correspondent added that the "War Cabinet's" statements have remained very ambiguous in regard to the situation north as opposed to its statements in regard to Gaza which it has vowed to annihilate.
Furthermore, Channel 12 political affairs commentator, Yaron Abraham, also called on Israeli authorities to avoid taking any actions that might lead Hezbollah to get directly involved in the war.
“Even if they intend to find a grassroot solution for Hezbollah, it is wise not to say that now so as not to incite them into joining the war,” Abraham said.
In regards to the erosion of Israeli deterrence against Hezbollah, Abraham said that confidence in the competence of occupation authorities is deteriorating.
