Israeli media call Sayyed Nasrallah's speech 'most intense' in a while
Sayyed Nasrallah's speech dominates Israeli headlines and news timeslots, as analysts pay special attention to the leader's response to Israeli threats.
Hezbollah's Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah delivered the "most intense speech" in a long time, as Israeli media analysts went into a frenzy after the Resistance leader bashed Western diplomats and sternly responded to threats made by Israeli officials.
The remarks made by Sayyed Nasrallah in a speech on the Day of the Wounded on Tuesday made the headlines for Israeli media news websites and dominated the time slots of news broadcasters.
Israeli broadcaster Channel 12's Arab affairs analyst, Ehud Yaari, focused on the Resistance leader's response to Israeli Security Minister Yoav Gallant's comments, which included threats against Lebanon and attempts to frame Hezbollah's operations on the southern front as separate from the war on Gaza.
In particular, Yaari pointed to the following statement made by Sayyed Nasrallah: "[Gallant] must realize that if he launches a war on us, then he will have two million displaced [settlers] from the north and not just a hundred thousand."
The Israeli analyst said that this is a clear indication that Hezbollah is ready to force out all Israeli settlers occupying territories north of Haifa.
He said that Sayyed Nasrallah spoke with "self-confidence" and "sarcastically" at times, specifically when commenting on proposals and talks launched by Western diplomats in Lebanon.
Yaari took not of one instance in which Sayyed Nasrallah said, quoting a Lebanese official who held talks with Western diplomats, that it would be easier to transfer the entire Litani River to the Lebanese-Palestinian border, than asking Hezbollah to move its forces to the north of the River.
"He laughs at the envoys who visited Beirut, Amos Hochstein, and others," Yaari said.
On the other hand, the Israeli commentator on Arab affairs for the Israeli broadcaster Kan, Roi Kais, said that the speech comes after a "French proposal for a settlement, including the withdrawal of the Radwan Force [and] deploying 15 thousand soldiers from the Lebanese Army, and the gradual ceasefire in a phased settlement."
"[Sayyed Nasrallah] poured very cold water on all these initiatives," according to Kais. The analyst also highlighted the main point behind the address, in which Sayyed Nasrallah made it explicitly clear that the movement will continue to target occupation forces as long as the aggression on Gaza goes on.
On his part, Kan's military affairs analyst, Roi Sharon, said that the situation in the northern region is "truly a disgrace" for "Israel".
"The residents there cannot dream of returning home, and we are not approaching any agreement there," he added.
