Israeli media reveals fear of a third front opening in the West Bank
Amid the escalation of Resistance operations in the West Bank, the Israeli media raised concerns that a third front would be opened against the occupation in the West Bank.
The Israeli Kan channel reported that "There is fear of a third front in the West Bank", noting that the occupation has been waging an ongoing aggression against Gaza that has been ongoing for up to 42 days, and ongoing confrontations on the northern border with the Lebanese Islamic Resistance.
Since the beginning of the aggression against Gaza on October 7, the Palestinians in the West Bank have supported the Palestinian resistance in Gaza and launched operations against the occupation forces, while the latter launched continuous aggression against areas in the West Bank.
The Palestinian resistance in Gaza and Palestinian factions in the West Bank called several times for public mobilization, confronting the occupation in ongoing confrontations and turning it into a fiery battleground.
Earlier this month, similar concerns were raised on November 10. Israeli media has conveyed growing apprehension within Israeli security and military institutions regarding the potential outbreak of an intifada in the West Bank.
Shirit Avitan Cohen, the diplomatic affairs correspondent and political analyst for the newspaper Israel Hayom reported that during a meeting on November 7 with the heads of settlement councils in the West Bank, additional insights into "Israel's" readiness for any escalation on a third front, beyond Gaza and Lebanon, were disclosed.
Cohen indicated that the anticipated scenario involves "an intifada in the heart of Israel against the settlers," revealing heightened concerns and preparations within Israeli circles for potential unrest in the region.
Sources involved in evaluating the situation have indicated that there is an expectation for individuals to carry out operations against settlers on the streets. This heightened concern is fueled by the absence of over 100,000 Palestinian workers from the West Bank, who have refrained from entering "Israel" since the Jewish holidays.
On Friday at dawn, the Israeli occupation forces raided several cities and towns in the West Bank. These actions led to confrontations and injuries as the residents resisted the occupation vehicles and forces during their raids in the affected areas.
In Jenin, a large number of occupation forces, accompanied by more than 80 military vehicles and bulldozers, stormed several neighborhoods in the city and the vicinity of its camp and deployed their snipers on the roofs of several homes and buildings, which led to the outbreak of confrontations with young men.
The occupation forces fired flare bombs in the sky of Jenin, coinciding with an intense flight of reconnaissance aircraft.
Resistance fighters confronted the Israeli raids with explosive devices and bullets. The Al-Qassam Brigade in Jenin reported that fighters in the camp aimed at the IOF using both bullets and explosive devices, engaging in armed confrontations with them simultaneously.
