Israeli Media: Attack on Al Tanf Base Carries an Iranian Message to "Israel"
Israeli media is debating the implications of the attack on Al Tanf base.
Natan Gutman, the Israeli KAN 11 correspondent in Washington, stated that "as far as the Americans are concerned, the attack on the Al-Tanf base was exceptional."
“According to the Pentagon, the unprecedented attack is well designed to be target specific”.
Gutman continued, saying: "The drones targeted the base, which currently houses 400 US soldiers and civilians, and while no one was injured; the target and method of execution indicate that Iran is interested in escalating its confrontation with the Americans in the region”.
“What is the US going to do?” he questioned.
The correspondent tersely stated that “the Pentagon said it reserves the right to respond, yet it does not appear that this right will be exercised in the near future; the Biden administration is currently focused on pushing forward a course of action against Iran before taking any military action”.
On his account, an Analyst for Arab Affairs in Kan channel Roi Case said "there is an Iranian message to Israel”.
“Iran and its envoys convey that the period of absorbing Israeli attacks in Syria will not last forever. Furthermore, if there are any future attacks which will hurt Iran, they will find a way to respond”, he added.
Case went on to say that "Iran’s response is as ingenious as it is innovative, for Iranians do not want to be directly involved with Israel”.
“This is an important message for Americans. If you give Israel the green light to attack loyal militia targets from US bases in Syria. Perhaps you will pay the price, and thus there is a desire to say to the US: Stop Israel," he concluded.
