Israeli Media: Security Agency Takes "Very Seriously” Syria Allies Operations Room’s Acknowledgement
After the attack on Palmyra, Israeli media reports that the security Agency takes threats of revenge seriously.
The "Israel Hayom" newspaper reported that the Israeli security establishment is aware of threats to respond to the attack attributed to "Israel" in Syria.
According to the publication, "The establishment is aware of the recent threats from Iran to respond to the attack attributed to Israel in Syria on Wednesday and takes very seriously the possibility that Syria - or Iran's groups in the region - will respond."
This comes days before the Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett is scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss political and security issues.
The news agency quoted the leader of the Syria Allies Operations Room saying that it had taken a decision to respond "harshly" to the Israeli aggression on Palmyra, pointing out that the targets which the Israeli planes attacked were service centers and gathering points for young people.
The head of the Islamic Jihad's media office, Daoud Shehab, confirmed to Al Mayadeen that the "Zionist aggression that targeted Syrian army positions in the vicinity of Palmyra is evidence of the enemy's goals to keep Syria in the circle of targets and pressure to threaten its security and stability."
On Wednesday, a Syrian soldier was martyred and 3 others were wounded as a result of Israeli air aggression on the Palmyra area in the eastern countryside of Homs.
