Israeli Media: Washington Must Make Concessions in Vienna
Israeli media says that "Israel" is making diplomatic efforts to prevent any nuclear agreement in any form.
Before the resumption of nuclear talks in Vienna, "Israel" is asking the major powers to condition the continuation of talks with Iran, the Israeli Kan channel reported on Monday.
A European source told Kan, "Every day the negotiations with Iran pass, the matter becomes more complicated, and so is the possibility of reaching an agreement."
The report added that "'Israel' is making diplomatic efforts not only to prevent a return to a nuclear agreement but also not to return to an interim agreement."
Western diplomats also reported that while the West views the event as the seventh round of talks, Iran appears to view it as a "first round."
Against the backdrop of the resumption of nuclear talks, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid will visit the leaders of France and Britain today, with discussions focusing on the so-called "Iranian threat." Next month, Gantz is expected to visit the US, during which he will hold several security meetings.
Crisis or Explosion
For his part, the former head of the Military Intelligence Division, Amos Yadlin, said, "Iran is highly confident of itself and its demands are very overreaching, and if the Americans do not make additional concessions, the path is heading to crisis or an explosion."
Yadlin stressed that "'Israel' is at a weak starting point in preparation for these talks, because whether an agreement is reached or not - 'Israel's' maneuvering ability is diminishing, especially because of the US strategy based on 'less for less'."
He also pointed out that "Iran's demands have become more difficult towards the Americans, and therefore from their side they expect part of the sanctions to be lifted," noting that "certainly there is such a danger."
Yadlin added, "In any case, the agreement that we will reach is not the agreement that 'Israel' desires. Also, returning to the 2015 agreement is a return to a worse agreement. In fact, we will not be happy if we return to this agreement," noting that "'Israel' erred in the strategy. The United States got out of the deal, so not only did we fall asleep on the watch, the guard left us, and we didn't prepare any plan."
