Israeli occupation bombs Jiyeh, intensifies its aggression on Bekaa
The Israeli occupation continues its aggression against Lebanon, launching a series of airstrikes at midnight on Wednesday, targeting multiple regions across the country.
Israeli occupation aircraft conducted a series of airstrikes at midnight on Wednesday at dawn, targeting several towns in the south and the Bekaa Valley, as well as the Jiyeh area, located approximately 28 km south of Beirut.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that the Israeli raid on the Jiyeh area led to the closure of the international highway linking the south and Beirut.
The airstrikes in the Bekaa Valley, located in the eastern part of the country, targeted several areas, including the city of Baalbek, Douris, Jamaliyeh, Brital, al-Khader, Amhaz, Shaath Junction, Nahleh Road, Hawsh al-Rafiqa, Rayak, Sahla Sarein, and al-Labweh.
In the south, the Israeli aggression extended to the towns of Hadatha, Yatar, Aita al-Jabal, the outskirts of Aaqbiyeh, Teir Dibba, Shaqra, Babliyeh, Mansouri, Habboush, Maarakeh, Ain Qana, Aba, the outskirts of Abbasiyeh, and Tura.
More than 550 martyrs in just two days of Israeli aggression
The death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on Lebanon, which began Monday morning, has risen to 558, with an additional 1,835 wounded, according to a statement by Firass Abiad, the minister of health in Lebanon's caretaker government, during a press conference held on Tuesday.
Abiad revealed that there were martyrs and wounded among the ambulance crews and health authorities.
An Israeli airstrike yesterday targeted the Ghobeiry area in the southern suburb of Beirut, marking the second attack on the suburb in under 24 hours. The strike destroyed three floors of a six-story residential building, leaving six martyrs and 15 wounded, with the casualty count still incomplete.
