The defense team of prisoner Ahmad Manasra announced today, Tuesday, that "the Israeli occupation prisons authority has transferred Manasra to Ramle Prison hospital due to the deterioration of his mental health condition."

In an urgent statement, they stated that "the Israeli prosecution informed us that the Israeli Prison Authority transferred the child prisoner Ahmad Manasra last night, 6/13/2202, to Ramle Prison Hospital due to his deteriorating mental health condition, without disclosing further details."

The statement added that the Israeli prosecution also informed the defense team that a prison doctor issued an order for the transfer of Manasra to the prison hospital for a 10-day period.

Accordingly, the crew indicated that this confirms its previous warnings that “the solitary confinement will exacerbate his already difficult mental health,” noting that “the Israeli occupation authorities’ ignoring the search for alternative solutions to solitary confinement will harm the child’s safety and health.”

It is noteworthy that the date of the court to consider extending Manasra’s detention in solitary confinement for an additional 6 months is on June 15, and the date of the hearing for early release is on June 19.

Back when he was arrested in 2015, the Israeli occupation had interrogated him in a manner too brutal for any human, let alone a 13-year-old child, which reflects its brutality and indiscriminate criminality against Palestinians.

Since his arrest, Ahmad has been subject to verbal and physical abuse, torture, and extended periods of solitary confinement, which deteriorated his psychological and mental health, not to mention depriving him of his freedom.

Since 2000, the Israeli occupation has arrested nearly 12,000 children, with 200 behind bars today, which is another manifestation of its indiscriminate criminality.

Days ago, Manasra's mother pleaded and appealed to the world during a press conference to stop the injustice being done to her son.

#FreeAhmadManasra!

Ahmad is a Palestinian prisoner whose mental health is deteriorating following 7 years of psychological & physical torture since his imprisonment from the age of 13.

Today he once again faces Israel's apartheid courts.
