Israeli Official: "Israel" Should Support Sudan's Military Coup
An Israeli official reveals that the recent military coup in Sudan is in the Zionist entity's favor in order to complete the normalization process between the two sides.
The Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom quoted an Israeli official as saying that the recent developments in Sudan may be concerning "Israel" and US President Joe Biden's administration, especially that Washington is aiming to finalize Khartoum's normalization process.
The official suggested that the Zionist identity should support the military coup led by the Head of the Sudanese Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, rather than Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok, who is under arrest in an undisclosed location after refusing to issue a statement in support of the coup.
According to the newspaper, the official pointed out that "The coup was all but inevitable because the prime minister has been at odds with the military for several years and it was obvious that this would reach a decision point."
"While we understand why the US would like to see the democratization of Sudan, between the two Sudanese leaders, it is Burhan who is more inclined to bolster ties with the US and Israel," explained the Israeli official.
The newspaper mentioned that out of all countries that normalized ties with "Israel," Sudan is the only one that hasn't established official ties with the Zionist entity due to political instability.
On Monday, the Head of the Sudanese Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, declared a state of emergency and announced the dissolution of the Sovereign Council and the government, and called for elections in July 2023.
The Sudanese Ministry of Information announced that civilian members of the Transitional Sovereign Council and several ministers of the transitional government were arrested.
For its part, Sudan's Ministry of Information called on masses to cut roads off on military action until the coup is overthrown, demanding the release of the detainees.
