Israeli settler kills Palestinian while harvesting olives in West Bank
The Palestinian Ministry of Health says Bilal Saleh, 40, was "shot in the chest by a settler" in the village of Sawiya near Nablus in the northern West Bank.
A Palestinian man was killed by an illegal Israeli settler in the occupied West Bank on Saturday, according to the Palestinian health ministry. The killer was an off-duty Israeli occupation soldier.
Violence has surged against Palestinians in the West Bank since "Israel" began its brutal aggression on the Gaza Strip. Since then, more than 100 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank, mostly during raids by Israeli occupation forces or settlers, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Sawiya mayor Mahmud Hassan told AFP that 40-year-old Bilal Saleh was "shot in the chest by a settler" in the village of Sawiya near Nablus in the northern West Bank.
Sawiya Mayor Mahmud Hassan explained that Saleh was shot while gathering olives with his family in their trees, which are located close to the fence that surrounds the adjacent Israeli settlement of "Rechelim."
"They were attacked by four settlers, and one of them who was armed with an M16 rifle opened fire at them without warning," Hassan said, adding that Saleh "was hit in the chest and was martyred in front of his family and children."
