Israeli occupation forces committed on Saturday a new massacre in the Nuseirat refugee camp, in the central Gaza Strip, targeting a school belonging to the United Nations Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) that was sheltering displaced people, the Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed.

The Gaza Government Media Office announced that this is the 43rd massacre that the Israeli occupation forces committed in the Nuseirat camp, which resulted in the killing of 16 Palestinians and the injury of 75 others, who were transported to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

The Media Office mentioned that the Israeli occupation warplanes bombed the al-Jaouni school on Saturday afternoon, highlighting that the school was sheltering around 7,000 displaced people.

In a statement, the Media Office condemned the latest Israeli massacre, recalling that the Israeli occupation has bombed more than 17 schools and displacement centers in the Nuseirat refugee camp since the beginning of the genocide in Gaza.

It called on the international community and all UN and international organizations to put pressure on the occupation to stop the genocide and halt the bloodshed in the Gaza Strip.

Touching on the humanitarian crisis in the central region of the Gaza Strip, the statement confirmed that only two hospitals are operational there, yet they are unable to provide health and medical services due to severe overcrowding and the numerous injuries they have received over the past months.

Elsewhere, the Office stressed that major challenges face humanitarian and health work in the Nuseirat refugee camp and Gaza's central governorate due to the ongoing genocide.

On its part, Hamas affirmed that the repeated and systematic targeting of UNRWA schools and displacement centers, as well as the perpetration of massacres, represents the Israeli occupation government's insistence on defying all laws put in place to protect civilians.

In a statement, the movement called on the international community and the United Nations and its institutions to take immediate action to stop these violations and ongoing war crimes and to implement effective measures to halt the Israeli killing machine against the Palestinian people.

Israeli strike kills nine members of one family in Nuseirat

In the same context, at least 10 Palestinians, including nine members of the same family, were killed and several others were injured in an Israeli attack that targeted a house in the Nuseirat camp, the Anadolu Agency reported.

The news agency cited medical sources as saying that among the Palestinians killed in the Israeli attack were nine members of the al-Jahjouh family, including seven siblings, a woman, and a child.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed that the number of Palestinians killed since the start of the Israeli war has risen to 38,098 and those injured 87,705.

Al Mayadeen's correspondent confirmed that the occupation forces demolished new residential blocks in the al-Shujaiya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City and that their machinery fired at homes in the al-Zaytoun neighborhood in the southeast of the city, coinciding with Israeli artillery shelling.

Our correspondent mentioned that throughout the day, more than 23 Palestinians, including children, journalists, and UNRWA employees, were killed in Israeli attacks on homes in the central region of the Gaza Strip.
