Israeli UN envoy worried 'Israel' losing narrative war to Palestine
Gilad Erdan, infamous for his theatrics, tells a group of reporters that the UN was being "exploited and weaponized against Israel."
As more countries have recognized a Palestinian state, the departing Israeli ambassador to the United Nations warned that "Israel" was losing the battle over the narrative on the world stage.
Gilad Erdan told Newsweek during a media meeting last week at the Israeli Mission to the UN that "Israel" has to "do more to convince the world," citing that it "always concerns us when our approach is not being accepted, like every normal country."
Erdan admitted to reporters he was "out of gimmicks" after relying on dramatic behavior to undermine the UN.
"Today, the U.N. is being exploited and weaponized against Israel to delegitimize the whole notion of a Jewish state," Erdan alleged.

He argued that it was still important to maintain a presence at the UN if "lies are being spread against Israel," since if he was not present there, there would be no way for the US and UK ambassadors to retrieve intelligence that is helpful for allies to "continue supporting us."
"If I'm not here and lies are being spread against Israel, no one is going to help the British ambassador to share with them the facts or the intelligence that I share with [U.S.] Ambassador Woodward or with Linda Thomas-Greenfield because I'm trying to help our allies to continue supporting us," he said.
"It's more important to convince democracies to defund the U.N. and to demand thorough fundamental changes here."
Erdan claimed that Arab states publicly align themselves with "the most radical parts against Israel," because they were part of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, yet in private, they tell him to "finish the job," regarding the attempt to eliminate Hamas.
"These Muslim countries, most of them are not democracies, they don't really know what's their political situation, so to be on the safe side, and prevent internal uprisings, they will align themselves with [such radical positions]."
Newsweek noted, however, that most recognitions like those from, Spain, Ireland, and Norway have come from democratic and European nations. Erdan told Newsweek he did not believe the recognitions do not amount to "cutting ties with Israel," claiming that "sometimes they do it because there are special relations with the Palestinians or with the Muslim world, sometimes they do it because of other interests."
Regardless, he called the decisions "a terrible mistake, because it only makes peace less likely to be achieved."
'Israel' brought to knees by Palestinian Resistance: Iranian MoFA
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Iran, Nasser Kanaani, condemned the lack of response and action from international organizations regarding the Israeli regime's atrocities in Gaza, emphasizing that the Resistance of Palestinians will ultimately lead to the downfall of the occupying regime.
Kanaani conveyed these sentiments on Tuesday through a post on social media amid ongoing hostilities in Gaza.

"In the shadow of the inaction of countries and international organizations, the destruction and mass killing in the Gaza strip continues insanely and non-stop by the Israeli regime," Kanaani said.
He stated that 55% of the structures in Gaza have been destroyed or damaged due to the inaction and passivity of international institutions and countries worldwide.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized that the Israeli occupation's assaults have resulted in nothing but massacres, devastation, deprivation, and hunger.
