Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of arrest raids across the West Bank on Tuesday, detaining at least five Palestinians in al-Khalil and several others in other cities.
In the town of Dura, south of al-Khalil, Israeli forces arrested Yasmin al-Fasfous, the freed prisoner Mahmoud al-Fasfous's wife, along with her father, Majed Nasser, and her brother, Wael. Their arrests were accompanied by threats that they would only be released if Mahmoud turned himself in.
In the al-Arroub refugee camp, north of al-Khalil, Israeli forces stormed Mahmoud Abu Hashhash's home, searched the property, and took him into custody. Raids also targeted homes in Jabal Johar and the town of Idhna, where soldiers ransacked properties belonging to the Abu Juhaisha, Matar, and Salimiya families.
Meanwhile, in Nablus, Israeli forces arrested eight Palestinians from the city and the Balata and al-Ain refugee camps. Occupation soldiers stormed several neighborhoods, including the northern mountain area, detaining three people after searching homes.
Balata refugee camp and the nearby Balata al-Balad area were raided twice, leading to the arrest of four more individuals, while another Palestinian was detained in the al-Ain camp.
In Ramallah and Bireh, Israeli forces raided multiple areas, including Umm al-Sharayet and Sateh Marhaba, arresting Mohammed Kanaan from the town of Birzeit after searching his home. Raids also targeted Beit Rima and Deir Ghassaneh, northwest of Ramallah, where homes were searched and vandalized. Additional military incursions were reported in the Jalazone refugee camp, Qarawat Bani Zeid, and Kafr Ein.
Separately, Israeli authorities issued demolition and stop-work orders for six homes in Idhna, west of al-Khalil.
According to reports, Israeli forces carried out 79 demolitions in the West Bank in February alone, affecting 156 structures, including 109 inhabited homes, five unoccupied ones, and 34 agricultural facilities. The demolitions were concentrated in al-Khalil, Jenin, occupied al-Quds, and Salfit.
IOF kill freed Palestinian prisoner, abduct Oscar-winning filmmaker
On Tuesday, freed Palestinian prisoner Bara’a Miskawi was killed following hours of armed confrontations with Israeli special forces in the al-Naqqar neighborhood of Qalqilya in the occupied West Bank, amid widespread incursions and detentions across various areas.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that Israeli forces stormed the town of Beit Fajjar, raiding the al-Muthallath, al-Samaqah, and central neighborhoods. They fired live bullets, stun grenades, and tear gas at Palestinians, injuring one Palestinian.
In a separate event, the Palestinian co-director of the Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land, Hamdan Ballal, was assaulted by Israeli settlers and abducted by the Israeli military on Monday in the occupied West Bank, according to the film's co-director, Yuval Abraham.
In a post on X, Abraham stated that a group of settlers had attacked Ballal, inflicting head and stomach injuries that caused him to bleed.
"They beat him and he has injuries in his head and stomach, bleeding. Soldiers invaded the ambulance he called, and took him. No sign of him since," Abraham wrote.
Basel Adra, another co-director of the documentary, said Ballal "is still missing after soldiers abducted him, injured and bleeding."
